What to do around the studio:

For coffee, brunch or pastries:

Ulmus Bakery - Best pastries ever!
Belly Pepper - Small cozy brunch place with Turkish influences.
Coffee Room - No-frills coffee shop, good tosti’s/sandwiches.
Kasik - Delicious home made cakes and polish treats, don’t miss the zapiekanki.

For dinner and drinks:

Bar Centraal - great wine, always changing menu
Fabus - also nice wine and levantine plates to share
September - another cute wine + dine place around
Pazzi - great pizza
Pastai - great pasta
De Nieuwe Anita - bar/cultural center, check for live music

Shops in the area:

Vintage Jungle - cool vintage shop
Indianaweg - really good vintage selection
We are Vintage - casual vintage, worth looking around
Gekaapt - local cute shop
Hema - dutch department store

Tip:

Walk down Jan Pieter Heijestraat, until Vondelpark - 20min walk from the studio :)

NU - good coffee!
Winkel 43 - very touristic but the best appel taart.


For dinner and drinks:

Café R. de Rosa - natural wine from the tap
Duende Dos - Best vibes and Spanish food
HINATA - Authentic delicious ramen
Café Thijssen - local bar for beer and bitterballen
BAK - for a great fine dining

Shops in the area:

Rains - Amsterdam brand with must have raincoats
Babylon - Vintage
Tableware Amsterdam - vintage tableware, so much fun
Tulip Museum - touristic but I do love the shop for all sorts of Tulip gifts


Tip:

On Mondays and Saturdays, go to Noordermarkt.
Start on Haarlemmerplein and walk down Haarlemmerdijk for vintage and local shops.
Watch a movie at The Movies on a rainy night.
Go for a walk in Westerpark and stop for a drink in one of the cafés inside.

Other areas to visit:

Center:

Although extremely overwhelming and tourists only, it’s a must go to see the old Amsterdam.
Check out the Oude Kerk and Begijnhof.

Kaaskamer - local cheese shop - order a sandwich to go
Kyo - Authentic Japanese restaurant

Museums and galleries to go:

If you have a lot of time: Rijks, Stedelijk
Smaller ones: Van Loon, Foam, Torch

Tip:

Walk around the 9 straatjes and avoid the tiktok famous places with a huge queue.
Watch a movie on the grote zaal of Tuschinski .
